It’s the classic story of starting a small advertising and design agency in what was then a smaller town (San Diego, circa 1984), and sticking with it until they hit it big with national clients and big brand budgets. And by big, we mean Taylor Guitars, Walmart, Starbucks, and Rubio’s. But what we love about this design duo in 2013, even more than their fancy new digs in Midtown, is the fact that they are never too big to be true to their roots and take on a passion project. They just recently signed up local craft beer and spirits producer Ballast Point as a client, and will be rolling out new labels, packaging, and other creative for the brand early this year. “It’s great to work with a group of people so dedicated to a singular goal,” says Mires of Ballast Point. “It’s an added bonus that they’re great people and, at the end of the day, we enjoy sharing a drink with them.”
