Designs for the Lux Art Institute recognized among the best in the nation

MiresBall wins four American Association of Museums awards

July 13, 2010 — For the eighth year, the American Association of Museums has recognized MiresBall – a west coast-based brand design firm – for its creative work for the Lux Art Institute.

This year, MiresBall and Lux were awarded two first place prizes and two second place awards in the competition for museum budgets under $750,000. The first place awards were given for best fund-raising/membership materials and event invitations; the second place awards for newsletters and marketing/public relations materials.

The award winning designs by MiresBall places Lux in unique company. Other multiple winners include the Guggenheim Museum, Smithsonian Institution and the Field Museum.

"We are proud to be part of Lux’s national recognition alongside such renowned institutions," said John Ball, Principal and Creative Director at MiresBall. "Our twelve-year partnership with Lux has made a real difference for the organization."

As a founding board member, Ball has worked closely with Lux to successfully promote the Institute through a variety of evocative materials, including brochures, newsletters, a website, a documentary-style film and event invitations. The collective efforts of Ball and his team at MiresBall have helped Lux effectively communicate its unique concept and personality, as well as share the stage with some of the country’s most prestigious museums.

"MiresBall continues to beautifully communicate the vision of Lux," said Reesey Shaw, executive director of the Lux Art Institute. "Since 1998 they have helped shine a light on our efforts locally, and put us on the map nationally."
