Designs for Lux Art Institute again recognized among nation's best
For ninth year, MiresBall earns multiple American Association of Museums awards
June 28, 2011 – The American Association of Museums has once again recognized MiresBall – a West Coast-based brand design firm – for its design work for the Lux Art Institute. This marks the ninth year MiresBall's work for Lux has been recognized by the AAM.
This year, MiresBall and Lux were awarded a first place prize and an honorable mention in the category of institutions with budgets less than $750,000. The first place award was given for quarterly newsletters, and the honorable mention awarded to fundraising/membership materials.
As in previous years, this recognition places Lux in the company of some of the nation's leading museum institutions; other multiple-award winners include The Getty Center, Hirshhorn Museum & Sculpture Garden, and the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston).
"Year after year, this national recognition helps give a growing organization like Lux an added level of credibility, which in turn helps to generate the local support needed to sustain the Institute," said John Ball, Principal and Creative Director at MiresBall.
As a founding board member, Ball has worked closely with Lux to build an identity for the Institute that is translated across a variety of materials, including brochures, newsletters, a website, a documentary-style film and event invitations. For more than a decade, the collective efforts of John Ball and his creative team at MiresBall have helped Lux effectively communicate its unique concept and personality.
"MiresBall has helped us literally grow from idea to reality," said Reesey Shaw, Executive Director of the Lux Art Institute, "and they remain committed to beautifully communicating the vision of Lux."
