Peace, 2016 edition

Post Hero

Each year, for nearly a decade, we’ve created a holiday card together with an artist whose work we admire.

We start by choosing a quote—something with a message of peace—and we then ask the artist to share his or her interpretation of that sentiment.

Following a year of utter bombast and ugliness, it was the simple, unsung beauty of Ringo Starr’s “Peace and love, Peace and love!” that called out to us.

Channin Fulton, a San Diego-based calligraphist, designer, painter and screen-printer known for her exquisite hand lettering and bold use of color, brought the day-glo joy for a colorful emblem that seemed perfect for the new year—and every year.
