A global hub for the specialty coffee community, World of Coffee hosts international trade shows in Dubai, Europe, Asia, North America, and Central America.
In 2026, the event landed in San Diego for the first time, bringing the global coffee community to a city known for its distinct culture, creativity, and craft.
Handpicked from the best creative agencies in San Diego, MiresBall was commissioned to create a distinct visual identity that celebrates and highlights the city’s iconic imagery while aligning with the global World of Coffee brand.
Our solution sidesteps tired tourist tropes to capture a more flavorful design aesthetic of experiences beloved by locals and visitors alike—from fish tacos and surfboards to VW vans and lowriders. These elements were woven together with coffee-centric imagery like tasting spoons, mugs, and arabica plants.
We treated the icons like stickers and plastered them over the “W” in the World of Coffee logo—evoking the sticker-drenched surfaces found in local skate parks, punk venues, and burger joints, and paying homage to San Diego’s influence on global skate, surf, and music culture.
The inaugural World of Coffee San Diego event brought together more than 600 exhibitors and 15,000 attendees—underscoring the city’s place on the global stage and the power of design to capture local relevance.
