John Ball reflects on 35 years

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Ball.

From starting out at local studios to taking a spin in New York in the 90’s to building MiresBall, John Ball has over three decades of experience and lessons learned.

John, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?

I started as a graphic designer in the early 80’s, working at several studios around town, and also spent a few years in New York.

35 years later, our firm creates naming, brand identity and packaging solutions that help clients—ranging from global brands to innovative start-ups—achieve more.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

After more than 35 years in the business, I’ve seen my share challenges. At the same time, I have had the privilege of working with so many visionary leaders and amazing brands, and I’ve learned valuable lessons from each one!

MiresBall Brand Design – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?

MiresBall is one of San Diego’s most recognized and experienced creative agencies. We help our clients find their voice, identifying and communicating what makes them different. Our solutions span naming, brand strategy, visual identity, often accompanied by packaging and/or websites.

I’m most proud of the long-term client relationships we’ve enjoyed, including 12 years working with audio industry legend Shure, and over 20 years with a Fortune 50 technology brand. Our experience with these global category leaders is just one of the things that sets us apart and brings value to everything we do.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?

I’m proud every time we do beautiful work that makes a difference for our clients!
